|
Colin specialises in personal injury litigation, predominantly, but not exclusively for insurers. He has a particular interest in head injury cases and has a growing reputation in health and safety. He is a member of the Law Society Personal Injury Panel.

CATHERINE CLEAVER
|
Catherine is the partner in charge of our Family Department, which deals with a wide range of sensitive personal issues. She specialises in divorce cases, including the complex financial consequences. She also advises on matters relating to children, is a member of the Solicitors Family Law Association and the Law Society's Family Law Panel.

DAVID DABCHICK
|
David is head of the Professional Negligence/Commercial Litigation Department. He established the firm's successful practice acting for professional indemnity insurers for a range of professionals, in particular solicitors, which continues to go from strength to strength. He has 15 years' experience of defending claims, and joined the firm nearly 10 years ago after gaining experience in insurance litigation in the City of London.

DAPHNE DUNN
|
Daphne heads the Personal Injury Department. She specialises in personal injury and clinical negligence cases on behalf of both claimants and defendants and also deals with some professional negligence claims defending solicitors. She has particular expertise in fatal accidents, brain injury cases and high value claims. She is a member of the Law Society Personal Injury Panel and AVMA panel.

ERIC ELMORSE
|
Eric is the Managing Partner of the firm. In addition to his managerial role within the firm, Eric deals with a wide range of property work including agricultural law, options, landlord and tenant, possessions and related litigation. He also handles licensing matters in the Magistrates' Courts.

PETER HARRIES
|
Peter is the Senior Partner and Head of Litigation. He specialises in personal injury claims for both claimant and defendant. He has particular expertise in deafness claims and explosion cases. He also deals with some professional negligence claims defending solicitors. He is a member of and an assessor for the Law Society Personal Injury Panel.

|
Michael specialises in agricultural law and advises farmers and landowners over a wide geographical area. He also specialises in planning in the rural environment and in environment issues.

Brian specialises in employment law. He is an experienced advocate in the Industrial Tribunal and Employment Appeal Tribunal and advises a range of large employers in Essex and surrounding counties. MARGO LEDBETTER

Margo heads the Private Client Department and specialises in trusts and probate, wills and personal tax planning. She deals with the legal problems of the elderly and incapacitated. She heads a team that combines a personal touch with a highly professional approach. Mary is a member of the Society of Trust and Estate Practitioners.

NICOLA NICHER
|
Nicola specialises in professional negligence work. She acts for insurers, in particular in defending professional claims made against solicitors. Nicola successfully makes use of alternative ways of resolving disputes other than through litigation e.g. by use of mediation.

MATTHEW RAMSDEN
|
Matthew is a commercial property specialist, dealing with negotiations on leases, sales and purchases of commercial property. He also advises on landlord and tenant law. Matthew is part of our business advisory team and assists with insolvency problems affecting property, and with property injunctions.

JOHN SALMON
|
John is the head of the Corporate Support Department. The Department handles both strictly "corporate" work - and share and asset acquisitions, MBO's, venture capital, listed securities - and also the negotiation and drafting of contracts for all manner of trading activities and IPR exploitation, frequently in an international context. Clients range from multinational groups to owner managed business in the Essex region. John's particular experience is in the publishing, computer software, IT and internet sectors. He is a member of the Society for Computers and the Law.

GAVIN TOWNSHEND

Gavin heads our Agricultural and Land Department, providing advice to a range of major landowners, land agents and surveyors. Areas of practice include land acquisitions, planning, landlord and tenant law and property based litigation. Gavin's team provides a discreet and professional service to clients based in many parts of the country.

FRANK WILLIAMS

Frank specialises in Professional Negligence and Commercial Litigation. He has wide experience acting for insurers in defending professionals. He has conducted a number of ADR mediations, successfully resolving disputes for insurers and other clients. Frank has particular expertise in contentious probate and trust disputes, and acts for major UK charities. He is a member of the Association of Contentious Trust and Probate Specialists.
