Answers to some Frequently Asked Questions

What follows are answers to the questions we are most frequently asked by business owners who know they should probably be taking advantage of the Web, but don't know where to start.

The Internet
The Internet is the most exciting new means of mass communication since television, and the World Wide Web is by far the most popular element of the Internet.

Why is the Web's appeal so universal?
It's easy to use, it's full of colour and pictures, there is good information available on any subject, and from a business standpoint, publishing on the Web is inexpensive.

Would it really do my business any good to have a presence on the World Wide Web?
Surprisingly, the answer is probably yes.  As a supplement to your existing advertising, a web site can be very effective.  For example, think about the phone book yellow pages.  Statistically, people who use the yellow pages are not only looking for a particular type of service or business, they are also looking for information about each of the businesses so they can decide which one to try.

But how much information can you squeeze into an affordable yellow pages advert?  By adding your web site address to your advert, people with Internet access automatically have the opportunity to find out more about your business and you have a virtually unlimited opportunity to show them just why they should call you.  Adding your web site address to all of your other current advertising and all your printed materials provides added information value to them too.
